Best of 1999: Borders

Borders.com's list of the Best Fiction of 1999 consists of 10 titles, half of which are of SFFH interest:

  • Stephen King, Hearts in Atlantis (Scribner)
  • Neal Stephenson, Cryptonomicon (Avon)
  • J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Scholastic)
  • Stewart O'Nan, A Prayer for the Dying (Henry Holt)
  • Elizabeth Haydon, Rhapsody (Tor)
The other selections are books by Kent Haruf, Roddy Doyle, Stacy Richter, Jhumpa Lahiri, and J.M. Coetzee.

The 11 Nonfiction selections include Erik Larson's Isaac's Storm, Evan Schwartz's Digital Darwinism, and Scott McCartney's ENIAC.
