Diplomatic Immunity completely dominated the hardcover category; The Salmon of Doubt: Hitchhiking the Galaxy One Last Time had a strong lead over the next title. Neil Gaiman's Adventures in the Dream Trade (NESFA) was the new runner-up. We had 90 nominees, up substantially from 67 last month.

American Gods led paperbacks by 100 points, three votes to two over the next title. New runner-up: Scout's Progress by Sharon Lee & Steve Miller (Ace). Nominees: 98, well up from 78.

The Lord of the Rings again led trade paperbacks by a solid margin, though Tolkien titles did not dominate the category as they have the past three months. A Walking Tour of the Shambles: Little Walks for Sightseers #16 by Neil Gaiman & Gene Wolfe (American Fantasy) was the new runner-up. Nominees: 68, up from 50.

Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones swept media-related titles by a substantial margin. Nominees: 25, down from 34.

Forgotten Realms: Elminster in Hell had a solid lead in the gaming-related category. Nominees: 30, up from 27.
