Crossroads of Twilight took back its reign of the paperback category, unchallenged by the other titles. New runner-up: Kris Longknife: Mutineer, by Mike Shepherd (Ace). Nominees: 81, down slightly from 83.

Pattern Recognition trounced the competition, breaking through the Tolkien barrier to take first in the trade paperback category. New runner-up: Max Barry's Jennifer Government (Vintage). Nominees: 45, down one from last month.

Star Wars: Survivor's Quest had no close competition in the media-related titles. Nominees: 23, down from 28.
