Locus Online will design ads based on graphics and short quotes that you supply. The charge for this is an extra $125 per ad, static or animated (like the Jeff VanderMeer sample shown above). Samples of various banner ad sizes are displayed on this page.
Rates for online banner advertising are as follows. Note that some sizes are only available on the homepage or non-homepage spaces.

* 'Current pages' are those regularly updated pages that are one-click away from the homepage, and typically include Links Portal, Author Events, Conventions, Forthcoming Books, and the latest Bestsellers page (e.g. this). Requests for these or other specific pages will be honored.
Rates shown are monthly, but weekly rates are available, as are discounts for other combinations, multiple and long-term orders.
Multiple Ad Special:
If you reserve an ad on the homepage, for only $125 more the same ad will run on five current pages.
Special Placement Charge:
There is a $50 charge to reserve the topmost banner or box position on the homepage.
Locus Online also offers
Online Classifieds page for text-only ads, at a rate of $3.00 for each 40 characters including punctuation and spaces. Minimum length is three lines. No restrictions on hyperlinks or e-mail links. Ad will run one month. We off multiple insertions discounts if the same ad is run for consecutive months.
Text-only Ads
Text-only ads may be placed in banner ad positions, at the same rates as graphic ads listed above. We do not accept text ads on the homepage. There is no restriction on length, number of words, etc., but the text must be legible within the available space.
You may specify font face, color, etc., otherwise we will set the text, typically in black type inside a colored rectangular box.
Reporting:
Daily access totals for the entire site and for individual pages are available at http://www.locusmag.com/wusage/. Locus Online does not guarantee minimum views or clicks for ads, and we do not provide reports to the advertiser.
