Brent Weeks’s The Broken Eye retained the top spot on the hard­cover list for a second month with a commanding lead over second place finisher Lock In by John Scalzi. Hieroglyph, edited by Ed Finn & Kathryn Cramer (Morrow), was the new runner-up. There were 42 titles nominated, one less than last month.

For the first time in six months, books in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series were unseated from the top two positions on our paperback list, with The Winter Long by Seanan McGuire taking the first spot, and Lois McMaster Bujold’s Captain Vorpatril’s Alliance in second. The new runner-up was The Incrementalists by Steven Brust & Skyler White (Tor), with 61 nominated titles, down from last month’s 64.

Ancillary Justice
by Ann Leckie took the top spot on the trade pa­perback list for another month, with Acceptance by Jeff VanderMeer finishing second. No new runners-up appeared on the trade paper­back list. There were 48 nominated titles, up from last month’s 42.

John Jackson Miller, with Dave Filoni, held onto the top spot in media-related books with new release Star Wars: New Dawn. Miller’s Star Wars: Kenobi, last month’s top finisher, moved to fourth place. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter Code: From the Files of Boba Fett by Daniel Wallace claimed second. There were no new runners-up, with 17 nominated titles, up from 10 last month.

Forgotten Realms continued to dominate of the gaming-related list with Forgotten Realms: Companions Code 1: Night of the Hunter and Forgotten Realms: The Companions, both by R.A. Salvatore, returning to the top spots as numbers one and two, respectively. There were no new runners-up. There were 11 nominated titles, down from last month’s 17.
