The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss claimed the top spot on the hardcover list, followed by The World of Ice & Fire by George R.R. Martin, Elio M. García, Jr. & Linda Antonsson in second place. War Dogs by Greg Bear was the new runner-up. There were 50 titles nominated, up from 42 last month.

The top spots in paperbacks again went to non-A Song of Ice and Fire books, with Bastion by Mercedes Lackey coming in first, followed by Jack Campbell’s The Last Stars: Perilous Shield. Five of the next six spots went to books in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. The new runner-up was Autumn Bones by Jacqueline Carey (Roc ), with 55 nominated titles, down from 61.

Ann Leckie’s Ancillary Justice retained the top spot in trade paperback list for another month, and the next book in the series, Ancillary Sword, took second. Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix (Quirk) was the new runner-up. There were 38 nominated titles, down from last month’s 48.

Star Trek: Voyager: Acts of Contrition by Kirsten Beyer took the top spot in media-related books, with Star Wars: Bounty Hunter Code: From the Files of Boba Fett by Daniel Wallace, Ryder Windham & Jason Fry holding onto second for another month. There were no new runners-up, with 21 nominated titles, up from 17 last month.

Forgotten Realms took all three spots on our gaming-related list with Forgotten Realms: Companions Codex II: Rise of the King and Forgotten Realms: Companions Codes I: Night of the Hunter, both by R.A. Salvatore, in first and second place, respec­tively. There were no new runners-up. There were 12 nominated titles, up from last month’s 11.
