The Skull Throne, the fourth book in Peter V. Brett’s Demon Cycle Series, pushed Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman out of the top position in hardcover and into second place. The Fifth Heart by Dan Simmons (Little, Brown) was the new runner-up. There were 48 titles nominated, down from last month’s 49.

On the paperback list, Jim Butcher’s Skin Game held onto first place, with Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson retaining second. The new runner-up was Shattered by Kevin Hearne (Del Rey). We had 59 nominated titles, up from 56 last month.

For the sixth month in a row, the top of the trade paperbacks list remains static with The Martian by Andy Weir and Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie taking the first and second spots respectively. There were no new runners-up, with 40 nominated titles, up from last month’s 36.

In media-related books, John Jackson Miller’s Star Wars: A New Dawn took first place with a comfortable lead over second place finisher Star Wars: Darth Vader and Friends by Jeffrey Brown. There were no new runners-up. There were 30 nominated titles, up from 23 last month.

In gaming-related books, R.A. Salvatore maintained his dominance with Forgotten Realms Companion Codex books Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf taking first place, and Rise of the King in second. There were no new runners-up, with eight nominated titles, down from last month’s 12.
