Only three points separated the top three books on the hardcover list, with Seveneves by Neal Stephenson squeaking into first place with a one-point win over Naomi Novik’s Uprooted, and three points over Nemesis Game by James S.A. Corey. The Fold by Peter Clines (Crown) was the new runner-up. There were 41 titles nominated, down from last month’s 52.

George R.R. Martin continued his domination of the paperback list with A Game of Thrones narrowly winning first place over second place finisher A Dance with Dragons. The new runner-up was Dave vs. the Monsters: Resistance by John Birmingham (Del Rey). We had 51 nominated titles, down from 67 last month.

The Martian by Andy Weir remained the top book on the trade paperback list with a commanding lead – almost three times as many votes – over Ann Leckie’s Ancillary Justice. There were no new runners-up, with 35 nominated titles, down from last month’s 40.

In media-related books, Dayton Ward’s Star Trek: The Next Generation: Armageddon’s Arrow moved from second place last month to first this month, followed by Star Wars: Lords of the Sith by Paul S. Kemp. There were no new runners-up. There were nine nominated titles, down from 12 last month.

This month, we had minor movement in gaming-related books with R.A. Salvatore’s Forgotten Realms: Companions Codex III:Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf holding onto first place and his Rise of the King in third. New release Halo: Hunters in the Dark by Peter David took second place. There were no new runners-up. We had 15 nominated titles, up from last month’s 13.
