Brent Weeks’s The Blood Mirror (book four in the Lightbringer series) took total control of the hardcover list with almost twice as many votes as second place finisher Crimson Death by Laurell K. Hamilton (book 25 in the Anita Blake series). The new runner-up was Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs (Dutton). There were 57 nominated titles, down from 61 last month.

The tenth anniversary edition of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods captured the top of the paperback list with a respectable lead over The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Kris Longknife: Bold by Mike Shepherd (Ace; book 14 in the Kris Longknife series) was the new runner-up. There were 60 nominated titles, down from 62 last month.

After a month-long hiatus, N.K. Jemisin’s The Fifth Season returned to the trade paperback list, capturing first place and edging out The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu. The new runner-up was Summerlong by Peter S. Beagle (Tachyon). There were 69 nominated titles, down from 79 last month.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens by Alan Dean Foster returned to the top of media-related and gaming-related books after last appearing on the list in April. It beat out second place finisher E.K. Johnston’s Star Wars: Ahsoka by a wide margin. There were no new runners-up. 31 titles were nominated, down from 36 last month.
