David Eddings $10m Bequest to Aid Asthma Research

posted @ 8/25/2009 11:51:00 AM PT

Fantasy author David Eddings, who died June 2, 2009 at his home in Carson City, Nevada, bequeathed $10 million to National Jewish Health, considered one of the nation's top hospitals for respiratory disorders. The bequest is the largest in the history of the hospital. Eddings's wife and sometime co-author, Leigh, suffered from asthma most of her life. Accordingly, the Eddings bequest is hallmarked for research related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of childhood asthma. "We are extremely grateful for this generous bequest," said Michael Salem, MD, National Jewish Health President and CEO.
