Nielsen Business Media has "made the decision to cease operations" at Kirkus Reviews. Kirkus was an important and influential review outlet, founded in 1933, which reviewed over 5,000 titles per year and published biweekly.
Nielsen Business Media will also close the magazine Editor & Publisher, and has announced the sale of the Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, and six other media brands to a new company called e5 Global Media. Nielsen will retain ownership of The Bookseller in the UK. The company has not yet decided whether the online Kirkus archives will remain available.
