Macmillan Addresses E-Book Lending

Macmillan has reportedly developed a library “e-book lending model that works for all parties,” although they have not yet announced details, and insist the development is not a reaction to pressure from the American Library Association (likely referring to this open letter from ALA president Maureen Sullivan). Assuming Macmillan goes forward and allows libraries to lend e-books, Simon & Schuster will be the only “big six” publisher not participating to some degree in e-book lending.
