2014 European Utopiales Prize Finalists

Finalists for the 2014 European Utopiales Prize have been announced.

  • Sumerki, Dmitry Glukhovsky (L’Atalante)
  • L’Opéra de Shaya, Sylvie Lainé, (Actusf)
  • La longue terre, Terry Pratchett & Stephen Baxter (L’Atalante)

 

The Nantes International Science Fiction Festival, the Utopiales, will take place October 29 — November 3, 2014, in Nantes, France. The prize, amounting to €2,000 is awarded to an author of European citizenship for a novel or collection published in French during the “season preceding the festival.”

The winner, chosen by a jury, will be announced Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the festival, and will be the sixth Utopiales Prize recipient to date. The festival also has a European Youth Prize and a Julia Verlanger Prize. For more information, see the Utopiales website.
