			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Geoffrey Landis, award winning author and NASA scientist, will be teaching at the Launchpad astronomy workshop in July 2012. Landis&#8217;s novel <strong>Mars Crossing</strong> won the 2001 Locus Award for Best First Novel, and his short fiction has received Nebula and Hugo awards.</p>
<p>Applications for Launchpad will open on March 1, 2012. The workshop will last one week, and take place in Laramie, Wyoming.</p>

<p>The <a href="http://www.sff.net/odyssey/">Odyssey</a> workshop application period is now open; early admission applications are due January 31, 2011, and regular applications are due April 8, 2011. The workshop will be held on the campus of <a href="http://www.anselm.edu/">Saint Anselm College</a> in New Hampshire, June 6 through July 15, 2011. Planned guest lecturers include Elizabeth Bear, Barry B. Longyear, Theodora Goss, Christopher Golden, and John Joseph Adams. The 2011 Writer in Residence is Gary A. Braunbeck. <p>The <a href="http://www.sff.net/paradise/">Viable Paradise</a> submission period will open January 1, 2011 and close June 15, 2011. The workshop will be held at the <a href="http://www.islandinn.com/">Island Inn</a> on Martha&#8217;s Vineyard, Massachusetts, from October 9-15, 2011.  Instructors include Elizabeth Bear, Debra Doyle, Steven Gould, James D. Mcdonald, Patrick Nielsen Hayden, Teresa Nielsen Hayden, Jay Lake, and Sherwood Smith. <p>For advanced students, the <a href="http://taostoolbox.com/">Taos Toolbox</a> &#8220;Master Class&#8221; in SF/fantasy writing began taking applications on December 1, 2010. The workshop will take place July 10-23, 2011 in Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico. Walter Jon Williams and Nancy Kress are the instructors, with special lecturer Jack Skillingstead.
