The Last Supper Charles McCarry (Signet 0-451-12857-5, Jul ’84 [Jun ’84], $3.50, 442pp, pb) [Christopher Family] Reprint (Dutton 1983) near-future thriller. There’s a little bit of sf, which gives me an excuse to list it. McCarry is my favorite spy story writer, and I like to recommend The Tears of Autumn, The Secret Lovers, or The Better Angels to anyone who enjoys the field. Save this one, the conclusion of the series, for last. (CNB)

Elric at the End of Time: Fantasy Stories Michael Moorcock (NEL 0-450-06047-0, May ’84 [Apr ’84], £7.95, 175pp, hc) [Elric] It’s not all stories and not all fantasy; most of this collection was previously published in Sojan (Savoy 1977). There are two stories which have appeared only in American anthologies. The 3,000-copy printing quickly sold out.
