Common Threads Nina Kiriki Hoffman (Hypatia Press, Oct ’95 [Nov ’95], $35.00, 443pp, hc); Collection of the dark fantasy novel The Thread That Binds the Bones (AvoNova 1993) with 14 short stories listed as another book, A Handful of Twist-Ties, which as far as we know, never appeared. There is an introduction by P.C. Hodgell, and illustrations by Alan M. Clark.


Virtual Girls: the Erotic Gems of Evan Hollander Evan Hollander (Circlet Press 1-885865-04-X, Aug ’95, $6.95, 64pp, tp, cover by Lee Seed); Collection of five erotic SF stories, one original. There is an introduction by Steve Dorfman, editor of Gent, in which most of these stories originally appeared. Hollander is a pen name of Edo van Belkom.


Bran Mak Morn Robert E. Howard (Baen 0-671-87705-4, Jan ’96 [Dec ’95], $5.99, 234pp, pb, cover by Ken Kelly) [Bran Mak Morn]; Reprint (Dell 1969) collection of eight sword-and-sorcery stories about a Pict hero, with a new introduction by David Weber. This edition adds “The Gods of Bal-Sagoth”, which is not a Bran Mak Morn story.


Kull Robert E. Howard (Baen 0-671-87673-2, Jul ’95 [Jun ’95], $5.99, 209pp, pb, cover by C. W. Kelly) [Kull]; Reprint (Bantam 1978) collection of 16 sword & sorcery stories (three as fragments) featuring Howard’s other barbarian hero. This is volume 2 in “The Robert E. Howard Library”. There is an introduction by David Drake, replacing the Offut introduction in the Bantam edition. This is slightly revised from the earlier King Kull (Lancer 1967) and drops the stories finished by Lin Carter.


Solomon Kane Robert E. Howard (Baen 0-671-87695-3, Nov ’95 [Oct ’95], $5.99, 311pp, pb, cover by C. W. Kelly) [Solomon Kane]; Reprint (Grant 1968 as Red Shadows) collection of 13 stories and three poems about the 16th century adventurer. Third in Baen’s “Robert E. Howard Library” series. There is a new introduction by Ramsey Campbell discussing his completion of three of the stories in 1976. There is also a two-page fragment not in the original edition. The completed stories first appeared in the two-volume reprint of the original: Skulls in the Stars (1978) and The Hills of the Dead (1979).


Cormac Mac Art Robert E. Howard & David Drake (Baen 0-671-87651-1, Mar ’95 [Feb ’95], $5.99, 209pp, pb, cover by C. W. Kelly); Collection of sword and sorcery stories about Howard’s character Cormac Mac Art. There are two stories by Howard, a new novelette by Drake, and three stories finished from Howard’s fragments by Drake. Volume 1 in “The Robert E. Howard Library” of newly re-edited stories.
