This is a semi-omnibus volume, lacking three stories from The Golden Apples of the Sun and one from R Is for Rocket, four appear in Classic Stories 2. “The Golden Apples of the Sun” has been added to this edition.

The Tale of the Next Great War, 1871-1914: Fiction of Future Warfare and of Battles Still-to-Come ed. I. F. Clarke (Liverpool University Press 0-85323-459-0, Sep ’95, £32.00, 382pp, hc, cover by Michael Mattingley) SF anthology of 16 stories and excerpts about the war-to-come at the end of the 19th century. Includes a long Introduction by Clarke on the plethora of such tales.

The Death-Mask and Other Ghosts H. D. Everett (Ghost Story Press, 1995, £35.00, xiii+257pp, hc, cover by Steven Stapleton) Reprint (Philip Allan 1920) ghost collection. This edition adds an introduction by Richard Dalby, and is limited to 350 numbered copies. [Not seen]

Bone Meal: Seven More Tales of Terror ed. A. Finnis (Scholastic 0-590-50982-9, Dec ’95, $3.99, 243pp, pb) Anthology of seven storles, the second half of Point Horror: Thirteen More Tales of Horror (Scholastic UK 1994).

Rat Tales ed. Jon Gustafson (Pulphouse, 1995, $10.00, 216pp, tp, cover by Tim Kirk) Original anthology of 22 stories and five limericks, all starting with the line “The rats were in the souffle again”, three of which were previously published in the earlier incarnation of this anthology, The Moscow Moffia Presents Rat Tales (Hypatia Press, 1988). This edition is limited to 300 copies, although another 500 copies exist as unbound sheets and may eventually be bound.
