The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian Robert E. Also includes a poem, the first submitted draft of Conan’s debut, drafts or synopses for six stories, and notes on Conan’s world by Howard. Illustrated by Mark Schultz. First US edition (Wandering Star 2003 as Robert E. Howard’s Complete Conan of Cimmeria, Volume One (1932-1933)); this has the color plates in b&w. This is also similar to the Millennium 2000 The Conan Chronicles Volume 1: The People of the Black Circle; it drops one draft and two stories and adds three synopses, one poem, and two stories.

Interwoven with legends, dreams, parables, diaries, etc. “Transcreated” from the original Urdu Aag ka Darya (1959) by the author. The original hardcover edition (-1418-4, $25.95) was not seen.

Greenberg (DAW 0-7564-0177-1, Aug 2003, $23.95, 544pp, hc) Original anthology of 30 stories by authors whose work influenced Ian’s songwriting, including Orson Scott Card, John Varley, Howard Waldrop, and Nancy Kress. Ian’s introduction tells how she came to her first Worldcon and the book was born. Greenberg isn’t mentioned on the cover, but this is copyrighted by Ian, Resnick, and Greenberg’s Tekno Books.
