We had a tie for #10 in hardcovers, but no doubt at all about first place: Robert Jordan had nearly twice the votes of the Feist. The runner-up was Green Rider by Kristen Britain (DAW). There were 88 nominees to last month's 85.

Neil Gaiman did even better in paperbacks than in hardcovers, coming in comfortably second to Laurell K. Hamilton. New runner-up: The Guardian by Angus Wells (Bantam Spectra). We had 118 nominees, way up from 98last month.

In trade paperbacks, Gemmell and Lisle tied (!) for first, well ahead of the rest. New runner-up: The Gift by Patrick O'Leary (Tor). Nominees: 72 to last month's 69.

For media tie-ins, new series books took the top three, but there were no big surprises. Nominees: 41 just up from 40.

In gaming-related books, the new Salvatore did quite well. We had 30 nominees, to 28 last month.
