All Tomorrow's Parties replaced Dune: House Atreides at the top of the hardcovers, with a significant lead. There was no new runner-up. We had 80 nominees, to 84 last month.

Dragon heads the paperbacks with a huge lead, but Raymond E. Feist also did well with ''Krondor'' books on both the hardcover and the paperback lists. New runner-up: Rules of Engagement by Elizabeth Moon (Baen). Nominees: 113, well up from last month's 95.

In trade paperbacks, no one predominated, and there was very little difference in points for the top five titles. The Mists of Avalon returned yet again. New runner-up: In the Beginning...Was the Command Line by Neal Stephenson (Avon). We had 70 nominees, down from 81.

The top three media-related books came close to a tie. Nominees: 36, to 34 last month.

For gaming-related, ''Forgotten Realms'' had the most titles, but the new "MechWarrior" book came out on top. Nominees: 20, down from 25.
