The Collected Stories of Robert Silverberg, Volume 1: Secret Sharers Robert Silverberg (Bantam Spectra 0-553-37068-5, Nov ’92 [Oct ’92], $12.50, 546pp, tp) Collection of 24 stories with an introduction by the author. A hardcover edition (-08996-X, $25.00) is also available. This is the equivalent of the first two volumes of British version with one story different. The second British volume has not yet appeared, so this is the first edition.

City Clifford Simak (SFBC #01155, Sep ’92, $6.98, 211pp, hc, cover by Michael Budden) [City (Websters)] Reprint (Gnome 1952) sf quasi-novel. One of the classics of sf. This has the Macmillan name on the spine, but it follows the text of the original edition and does not include “Epilog”, which was present in the earlier SFBC edition.


City Clifford D. Simak (Macmillan Collier Nucleus 0-02-025391-5, Jan ’92 [Feb ’92], $5.95, 183pp, pb, cover by Paul Lehr) [City (Websters)] Reprint (Gnome 1952) sf quasi-novel. The text is that of the 1981 Ace edition, which adds a final story to the series. One of the classics of sf. Highly recommended (CNB).

Children of the Night Dan Simmons (Lord John Press 0-935716-63-7, Jul ’92, $125.00, 320pp, hc) Vampire horror novel. This is a 500-copy signed slipcased limited edition simultaneous with the Putnam edition. A 250-copy split-leatherbound edition ($250.00) and a 26-copy lettered leatherbound edition ($800.00) were announced but not seen.
